ASTM A778 welded stainless steel pipe is intended for applications where corrosion resistance and dimensional consistency are required but where the piping specification does not require the pressure-service provisions of ASTM A312. The purchase specification should identify the grade, outside diameter, wall thickness, length, welding condition, finish, testing, and required documentation.
Before selecting ASTM A778, confirm the design pressure, temperature, corrosion conditions, fabrication method, and applicable piping code with the project engineer.
